Bible in one year: Psalms 146-150
NOISY BUT PEACEFUL
Memorise: And out of the throne proceeded lightening and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God. Revelation 4:5
Read: Exodus 19:16-18
John the Beloved said out of the Throne of God was lightning, thundering and voices.
And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God. Revelation 4:5
If you have studied God’s presence in the Old Testament, these would not be strange to you. For instance when God was to give the Israelites the Ten Commandments in Exodus 19:9-18, these were present together with smoke, a thick cloud and earthquakes. Heaven is also a very noisy place. Some people think that when they get to Heaven, it will be such a calm, quiet place. Sorry to disturb your ideology. If you are looking for such a quiet Heaven, you may have to manufacture one. God’s Heaven is noisy, very noisy but peaceful. It is also perfect. If Heaven is noisy then the church should not be like a grave yard. Anywhere that is always cold, cannot accommodate our God. If you are full of life, you cannot be quiet for too long. Are you bubbling with the life of Heaven?
In addition, John saw a sea of glass like crystal. In the Bible, the word sea is often used to connote human beings. If it is a restless sea, it presents the true picture of human beings. But the sea before the Throne of God was at rest, with no storms. Bible scholars have interpreted this as the picture of all saints, all dressed in white, at rest before God. When we get to Heaven we will have no more problems. There will be no more power outage, no accident, nothing that causes sorrow. In Heaven, you will enjoy true and eternal peace. That doesn’t mean that all you will be doing will be to sleep. No. When you know God’s nature that He is very hard-working and that there is no lazy person in Heaven, you can be sure everyone will be busy doing one thing or the other. Working conditions under the Most High God in the greatest planet – Heaven is truly incomparable with the best that earth has to offer. You must make it to Heaven!
KEY POINT:
The noise in Heaven does not disturb its serenity, peace and progress but adds to them.

MIRACLE FACTOR
Memorise: He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and he hath set the world upon them. 1 Samuel 2:8
Read: Exodus 2:11-15
As a Mathematician, I will try to explain the miracle factor in God’s promise to Abraham in mathematical terms. There were two variables – Abraham and Sarah, and God promised to multiply them to produce a result as uncountable as the sand on the sea shore. That was the first equation. In the second equation, the Lord promised to multiply the two variables who were rooted in obscurity (completely unknown), to produce a result as glorious and numerous as the stars of heaven. Usually, God’s major promise to an individual may be in his or her greatest area of need although other promises may cover other areas. If you compare Joseph and Abraham, you will find that God promised Joseph greatness by exalting him among his family but he had to wait to receive the promise. His waiting period took him to a strange land, slavery and prison yard before he actualised the promise on the throne of Egypt as the prime minister. On his part, God promised Abraham a child, a land and a seed through whom the whole world would be blessed – Jesus Christ. But he too had to wait by moving from place to place, facing different challenges to his life, wife and household in the process.
One thing is certain: your present location cannot hinder the fulfilment of God’s promise in your life. God can lift anybody up, even from the prison to the throne like He did to Joseph; He can delist the barren from barrenness and make her a joyful mother of children like He did to Hannah. The Lord can break the status of poverty and move the fellow into abundance. Moses too had to wait for God to fulfil His promise to liberate the Israelites from Egypt. Initially, when he was too hasty and decided to jump ahead of God in his zeal, he got into a problem that could have cost him his destiny, if not for God’s mercy and power. While he waited, Pharaoh resisted his mission until his waiting period was over and the King of kings broke through Pharaoh’s resistance and set God’s people free. As you wait on Him, your time will come and when your time comes, nothing can hinder the fulfilment of His promises in your life.
ACTION POINT:
Ask God to lift every member of His church worldwide from the dung hill to the throne.

EFFECTS OF SEXUAL SINS
Memorise: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18
Read: Judges 16:16-21
After his hair was shaved, Samson thought of arising like in times past to stir up the Spirit, but little did he know that the Holy Spirit had left him. It was acrobatics without power. It was motion without unction. It was all noise without the Noise Maker. The wheat had gone and all that was left was the chaff! Sexual sins are great robbers! Samson lost so much to sexual sin. When he fornicated with a harlot and the anointing was still there to uproot the city gate of the enemy, he thought nothing was lost (Judges 16:1-3). But a lot had gone even as at that time. This is the deception of sin. When you sin and it appears all is still well, you will be tempted to continue in sin thinking all will remain well. If you do, you would have been deceived. There are many pastors, evangelists, prophets, teachers and even apostles today who are living in sexual immorality and because they still feel the anointing in some measure or still hear from God or are still able to perform their assignments well, they think all they have is intact. No! They have lost a lot!
By the time Samson got to Delilah in Judges 16:4-21, what the first prostitute started, Delilah completed and he was totally drained. A man of God who had slept with some sisters observed that after fornicating with them, certain gifts of God upon his life ebbed while those gifts were later developing in those two ladies. Those you are sleeping with are stealing your power, although sometimes, what they took out of the fornicating leader could also cause great harm in their own lives and families. A time will come when the fornicator will be totally empty. Through fornication, your sex partners are shaving your hair – your anointing. Soon, you will also lose your eyes – spiritual sight. A blind leader is a useless one because he will end up in the ditch. As a fornicating pastor, you are in bondage to the ladies you are sinning with as the fear of being reported to your superiors will push you further into that pit. Also, you can no more preach holiness whenever they are around. You are also in bondage to your enemies and you will end up working for the devil if you do not repent (Judges 16:21). All your gains in ministry could disappear because of sexual immorality! Repent today!
PRAYER POINT:
Father, uproot and roast every iota of immorality and lust operating or hibernating in my life.

Bible in one year: Psalms 133-137
AGENT OF JOY
Memorise: Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalms 82:4
Read: Psalms 82:2-4
It is important to assist the poor because when you do, you will receive what money cannot buy. Proverbs 14:21 says there is joy awaiting those who help the poor. That means, as you sow happiness into their lives, you will reap joy. The poor and needy are good grounds to sow. Money cannot buy joy. The best money can bring is temporary happiness. The devil exploits men’s need of joy by offering them alcohol so that when they drink, they will have a little euphoria of happiness. Why do you think people smoke Indian hemp and what kind of people engage in such behaviour? Those who are sad and frustrated engage in it to have a taste of happiness; so also are drug addicts. Why don’t Christians drink alcoholic beverage? It is because they have the joy of the Lord, which is original and is always present.
Sometime ago, while travelling to Kwara State (Middle Belt Nigeria), I saw a young boy weeping by the road side. So I asked the driver to stop so that I can ask what was amiss. He told me he had lost 50 kobo and his mother would “kill” him if she heard of it. I gave him the money he lost and immediately, you could see the joy on his face. He was so carried away that he bolted without even saying a “Thank you”. All the same, throughout that day, I was very happy with myself because I was a channel of blessing to a child. Do you know you can generate joy in your heart by putting smiles on the faces of the hungry? I know you can reach out to someone today and let his or her soul bless you. Visit those in prisons and preach Jesus to them. Visit those in the hospitals and show them some love. Give to the needy. Pray for your leaders. Encourage the distressed, hurting and discouraged. However, prosperity is not only in monetary terms. If you have money but lack good health, you are poor. If you have money but lack joy, you are poor. This is why those who are truly prosperous are those who have Jesus Christ because they have peace, joy and hope for tomorrow. They are secure because they know God will take care of them. Are you a child of God?
KEY POINT:
Look out for five people you can put joy into their lives and families.
Go ahead and do so.

FEAR AND FAITH
Memorise: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
Read: John 14:1, 27
In Psalms 42:5, the Psalmist observed that in spite of what he did, he was still worried. Christians often get worried in spite of God’s express command that we should not. In John 14:1, the Lord says we should not let our hearts become troubled and He gave a recipe to worries: believe in God and in Jesus. Faith is the solution to worries. Also in John 14:27, He says not only should your heart not be troubled, but that you should also keep fear away from you. Fear and faith are diametrically opposed to each other but similar in the sense that each involves some form of believe. The fearful believes that something unpleasant is going to happen while the faithful believes that something good is about to happen. In both fear and faith, there is an expectation and expectations can be very strong sometimes. In fear, there is believe, but this believe is in the wrong thing or the wrong person. When you express strong belief in the occurrence of something negative, you are misapplying the creative power in you.
The fearful believes in something and the confident also believes. This simply means that there is nobody who has no expectation. There is nobody too who can say I have no faith. You express faith one way or the other whether you like it or not. The most fearful and suspicious people are people with great faith potentials. Are you always very fearful? You have the capacity of manifesting great faith. In fact, if you start to believe strongly in something good happening in your life or situation in place of the negative thoughts, you will get the Lord’s commendation. However, when you have expectations or faith, for it to work very well, it must be connected with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If you say you believe in God but do not believe in Jesus, your faith will be unable to deliver its best to you. Another thing is that you must be in the place of righteousness for faith to deliver its best. If you are in sin but you believe in the Godhead you have just placed a log on your wheel of faith. Remove it; remove that bitterness, lie, deceit and hatred. Remove pride, envy and jealousy and ensure you are completely clean so as to effectively activate your faith.
PRAYER POINTS:
Father, turn every fear in my heart into faith. Pray for a successful Lets-Go-A-Fishing programme (Evangelistic Outreaches) at all locations this season, asking for a great harvest of souls.

PASSING THE ANIMAL TEST?
Memorise: A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. Proverbs 12:10
Read: Proverbs 12:9-10
The way the righteous rebukes an offender is another way he can be identified. When some people rebuke you, you would lose your self-worth as your person is brought under intense attack. You may even ask why you are still alive. But when the righteous rebukes you, you will look forward to more rebukes because he will do it with the law of kindness in his heart. He will correct you with the Word of God in an attitude and atmosphere of love. This makes a lot of difference. Psalms 141:5 says;
Let the righteous smite me: it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.
The way some leaders rebuke those under them can be compared to using a hammer on an ant. Correction should positively affect the one you are correcting so that he or she can deliver better performance. If your subordinates prefer to be scolded by others instead of you, it is very doubtful you are righteous. If you are righteous, it will show in the positive reinforcements that come from you. The righteous treats fellow human beings with care.
Moreover, another way you will know the righteous is how he or she treats animals – particularly pets. Proverbs 12:10 says:
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Some people are not only mean to fellow human beings but also to their animals. If you cannot take care of animals, why get them in the first place? It takes the righteous person to ensure that it is well with his pets and animals. In fact, if God was to get an assessment of our character from our animals, many people will not scale through. Or do you think animals do not communicate with one another? They do just like you see in some children television programmes, only that you do not understand their languages; but they understand themselves and God understands them. If they were to speak of how you treat them, would you pass?
KEY POINT:
If your pets are dirty, sickly, eat late, or are neglected, you have failed the animal test.

ABOUT THE THRONE
Memorise: And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. Revelation 4:2
Read: Revelation 4:2-4
In Revelation 4:1, John the Beloved was invited to come and see certain future events. You will observe that up to chapter 3, a lot was said to the churches, but from chapter 4 -14, nothing was heard about the church; all that is recorded is about the tribulation on earth. This is another proof that the church will not be on earth during the Great Tribulation. Similarly, you will observe that in Revelation 1-3, the phrase:
… he that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches ended each of the letters the Lord wrote to the churches. But in Revelation 13:9 where this phrase is used again, it says:
If any man have an ear, let him hear.
There was no mention of the word ‘church’ because somewhere at the end of Revelation 3, just as the door was opening in Heaven, the church was taken away to be with the Lord. Do everything possible to go with the Lord!
Moreover, John says he was in the spirit before he began to see glorious sights of Heaven (Revelation 4:3). We cannot take our mortal bodies into Heaven unless they are transformed into spirits. Even today, you have to be in the spirit in order to see the things in Heaven. What did John see? He saw a heavenly throne. God has a throne no doubt and Isaiah confirms this when he saw the Lord sitting on a throne (Isaiah 6:1). In an attempt to describe the throne, John was short of the right words to do the job. All he could do was to describe the glory of God which looked like jasper – pure bright and glorious without any blemish. This stands for the unbearable radiance of the holiness of God. He also says it looked like sardine stone which is a deep colour, which could be referring to the Blood of Jesus. Around the throne, he saw a rainbow with the colour of emerald. Emerald is green and green stands for power, productivity, and mercy which refer to the Holy Spirit. We also see 24 elders sitting on 24 seats. God is flanked by a group of people called elders which together forms the Supreme Council of God. No wonder God speaks in the plural sense many times. There is a lot of argument on who these elders are – whether they are 12 patriarchs and 12 apostles or 12 are Jews and 12 representing the church, we will know the true position of things when we get to Heaven. Is there anything you are doing, saying or planning now that can stop you from getting there? Deal with it today!
PRAYER POINT:
Anything in my life that can truncate my heavenly trip, Father, root it out today and put me on the right track to Heaven.

FORTIFYING YOUR INFLUENCE
Memorise: And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel. 1 Chronicles 29:25
Read: 1 Chronicles 29:22-25
God’s presence is very crucial in the life of a leader or ruler over a kingdom. We see this in the life of King Solomon. After he was crowned king of Israel, he got the cooperation of all his subjects because of God’s presence. Do you know that it is easy to obey the carrier of God’s presence just as it is easy to disobey the one who does not carry God’s presence? Any king or leader who does not carry God’s presence will struggle with his subjects or subordinates. Many will have excuses – genuine excuses for not obeying such a leader. But the one who carries God’s presence will easily control those under him. That was the experience of Adam before the fall. Because he was clothed with God’s presence, the animals and everything on earth willingly served under him. But when he fell and he summoned the animals for a meeting, they noticed that he was no longer wearing the glory of God that compelled them to obey him, so they rebelled against his government, choosing self-rule from then on.
In Solomon’s experience, he observed that all those who could have easily refused to submit to his rule all submitted to him in one accord. Such people like the princes, mighty men and the sons of David, many of who were older and had more claim to legitimacy as children of David’s legitimate wives. Only God’s presence could have made that possible! If people find it difficult to submit to you as the pastor or your wife and children find it difficult to submit to you as their father, it may mean that you need more of God’s presence. Stop going to men to tell them to submit to you; go to God and get more of His glory upon your life and they will submit to you willingly. Lastly, from today’s passage, we also notice that God magnified Solomon exceedingly before all Israel and gave him tremendous increase in everything. God is the One who makes a leader important. He is the One who can make subordinates to regard and honour their leader. Are you a leader? Then ask God to increase your worth before your subordinates and crown you with majesty.
ACTION POINT:
Are your subordinates rebellious or despising you? Go and receive power to reign from God’s presence.

COMPLETE THE CIRCLE
Memorise: Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? Job 7:1
Read: Job 7:1-3
In Acts 1:7, Jesus told His disciples that they may not be privileged to know the times and seasons that God has reserved to Himself. In the same way, you may not be told when certain things will take place in your life; but what is most important is that you need to trust Him to fulfil His promises in your life. According to Psalms 126:1-3, by the time God finally steps into that unpleasant situation and reverses it, the beneficiary of the turn around would seem like a dreamer. This season, the Lord will speedily intervene in your situation and turn it around for good in Jesus name.
Abraham received a great promise from God which he expected would come to pass. Every season of fruitfulness came and passed. Others were fruitful including his slaves, neighbours and animals but he was barren. At some point, the Lord visited him and repeated the promise He made earlier (Genesis 18:1-14). Has God repeated the same promise He has given to you before? Are you tired of such repetitions? Don’t be! When God repeats something, it shows He has not forgotten what He earlier said. God is faithful. Unknown to Abraham, God had reserved a particular time to fulfil His promises in his life. Every day, week, month or year that passed by brought him closer to his expectation. But when will it be? He could not tell. An interesting thing to note here is that no matter how close you are to God, you must complete your circle of waiting. There are no short cuts! Abraham was called the friend of God. He had visitors from Heaven who wined and dined with him; he almost thought his day had come only to be told that his day was still coming, this is after 23 years of waiting; he was told that he would still have to complete the circle for at least another year. The following year, Isaac was born. Are you saying you have waited enough for that particular blessing? Do not bungle the process of waiting. You are closer to your miracle than when the process began. Wait! Be patient and prayerfully wait. You shall have your desires!
PRAYER POINT:
Father, grant me the grace to wait the full circle and not destroy the change process You have began in me in Jesus name.

THE BIG LOSERS
Memorise: Till a dart strike through his lives; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. Proverbs 7:23
Read: Proverbs 7:17-27
If anything God gave to you such as your life, spouse, children, job or business, intelligence, good health, spiritual gifts and graces, and even financial and material possessions, is precious to you, then keep satanic offers billions of miles away. John 10:10 says whenever the devil comes, forget the promises he makes; it is to steal. If he cannot steal from you, he will not waste his time coming in the first place. How then could you think that when you obey the devil in committing adultery or fornication you will not lose anything? You are so highly deceived! The greatest losers are those who engage in sexual sins especially because their bodies are involved and as a result they drive God out of their hearts and welcome the devil in. Oh! If only you know what you are losing by that single act of sex, you will never dare it again! If you are still living in fornication or adultery, you are a big time loser.
Proverbs 6:26 says it is the precious thing you have that is the target of the devil during your sexual act. While you are relishing in ecstasy for a few minutes of pleasure, you are losing what it took you several years of agonising prayer, fasting, seeking God’s face and self denial to obtain. It is like pulling down a house. Some people build their house for up to six months, one year, five years or even more. But bring a bulldozer or let there be a fire outbreak in the house and the house is down in a matter of minutes. Fornication razes you down even below your foundation in a matter of minutes! Every fornicator is a loser. Also, fornication or adultery does not allow its victim to have permanent blessings. When God gives such victims a blessing that they are expected to secure through righteousness, the moment they fornicate, the blessing is eaten up and before they realise it, everything is gone. Are you secretly fornicating or committing adultery even as a Christian worker, or minister? You are undoing yourself. Repent and stop it now before it takes your life and sends you to hell!
ACTION POINT:
When you fornicate, you lose precious seeds physically and spiritually, which may never be recovered.
