SPECIAL SECRETS
Memorise:And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. Acts 1:7
Read: Acts 1:4 -7
Being a God of purpose and the greatest planner of the universe, God has a time table for each of His children. He alone knows our day of divine appointment hence we have no choice but to wait on Him, fully relying on His love, care, faithfulness and His unlimited power to do anything He has promised. No matter how close you are to God, there are still some secrets He will keep to His chest. For instance, as close as Jesus was to the Father, the Father did not disclose the exact day and time fixed for the second advent of Jesus. Why? The Lord loves us so much that He could have given us those details. Since He could not get that information from the Father, the best He could do was to relay to us the seasons – the signs that will precede His coming.
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Mark 13:32
In the same vein, while the disciples were asking the Lord some pertinent questions, Jesus plainly told them:
… it is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. Acts 1:7
Here the Lord was saying that anything God has kept close to His chest should not be what they should be worrying about. Today, some believers are busy asking God through prayer and fasting for information that is strictly reserved for Him. There is no way they will ever hear from God except the Lord tells them to stop wasting their time and rather channel their efforts towards areas that can give results. One way to manage your time as a servant of God or a believer in Christ is to identify areas not to pray about because no matter how much you pray about such an area, you will never get any result. You may be disappointed and think that God is unfaithful to you. No, He is not; you have simply failed to access the special secrets. If you are sensitive to the Spirit, He will not let you embark on such a fruitless mission. Consult the Holy Spirit daily.
PRAYER POINT:
Like Daniel spent valuable time seeking for information not meant for his day in Daniel 2:4, pray that you do not waste your time seeking what will be unprofitable to you.

SECRET SINS
Memorise: Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. Psalms 90:8
Read: Psalms 19:12-14
Besides expressing faith in God, the righteous is identified by consistent right-standing with God. According to Ezekiel 3:21, the righteous is expected not to live in sin, but to continue to do what glorifies God. Righteousness is not something you engage today and disengage tomorrow like some people think. You do not abstain from sin only when those you respect are around, but also when they are not around. The righteous does not only abstain from public sins but also from secret ones. The challenge of most believers is not how to avoid open sins but how to stay righteous in their thought realm and to keep away from touching the unclean thing when they are all by themselves. That is a major challenge and for the righteous, this is the area he or she devotes more attention and prayer to.
David was one person who had a challenge in this area. Through the knowledge of God’s Word, he understood that secret sins, which nobody else is privy to, is fully exposed to God. In Psalms 90:8, he says our sins which were shrouded in secrecy of darkness and ignorance are exposed by the light of His presence. Your secret sins are not covered at all! God knows everything about your secret deeds. The devil or his agents who were present when you indulged in those evil acts also have the records. It is either God exposes your secrets, or the devil does. What you have buried in the earth or locked up in a safe, which you think is safe, is not safe at all. It can be exposed at anytime. The only secrets that can truly be secrets are the ones you confess to the Lord and hand over to Him. If He covers your faults, nobody can uncover them. When David realised this, he therefore asked God to deliver him from secret sins. Are you still living in sin secretly? Do you secretly masturbate, lust after same sex or the opposite sex? Do you secretly steal or bribe to influence decisions? Repent today and hand your secrets over to God.
KEY POINT:
The secret sins you fail to expose to Him today will be exposed before everyone and then nobody and nothing can cover your shame.
