FEAR AND FAITH
Memorise: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
Read: John 14:1, 27
In Psalms 42:5, the Psalmist observed that in spite of what he did, he was still worried. Christians often get worried in spite of God’s express command that we should not. In John 14:1, the Lord says we should not let our hearts become troubled and He gave a recipe to worries: believe in God and in Jesus. Faith is the solution to worries. Also in John 14:27, He says not only should your heart not be troubled, but that you should also keep fear away from you. Fear and faith are diametrically opposed to each other but similar in the sense that each involves some form of believe. The fearful believes that something unpleasant is going to happen while the faithful believes that something good is about to happen. In both fear and faith, there is an expectation and expectations can be very strong sometimes. In fear, there is believe, but this believe is in the wrong thing or the wrong person. When you express strong belief in the occurrence of something negative, you are misapplying the creative power in you.
The fearful believes in something and the confident also believes. This simply means that there is nobody who has no expectation. There is nobody too who can say I have no faith. You express faith one way or the other whether you like it or not. The most fearful and suspicious people are people with great faith potentials. Are you always very fearful? You have the capacity of manifesting great faith. In fact, if you start to believe strongly in something good happening in your life or situation in place of the negative thoughts, you will get the Lord’s commendation. However, when you have expectations or faith, for it to work very well, it must be connected with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If you say you believe in God but do not believe in Jesus, your faith will be unable to deliver its best to you. Another thing is that you must be in the place of righteousness for faith to deliver its best. If you are in sin but you believe in the Godhead you have just placed a log on your wheel of faith. Remove it; remove that bitterness, lie, deceit and hatred. Remove pride, envy and jealousy and ensure you are completely clean so as to effectively activate your faith.
PRAYER POINTS:
Father, turn every fear in my heart into faith. Pray for a successful Lets-Go-A-Fishing programme (Evangelistic Outreaches) at all locations this season, asking for a great harvest of souls.

MARK OF FAITH
Memorise:And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:6
Read: Genesis 15:1-6
The righteous can be identified by their faith in God. The Bible reports that Abraham was counted as righteous because he believed God.
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. James 2:23
Hebrews 11:6 says without faith nobody can please God. If you come to God, you must believe that He exists. Not only that, you must take Him at His Word because He does not break His promises. You must also believe that He will do what He says He would. Faith in God is very paramount in the life of a Christian. The righteous believes every word that comes out of God’s mouth or His bona fide servants. If you find it difficult to receive God’s Word or to believe certain prophesies that the Lord has declared, your righteousness is questionable. The righteous is a believer in Christ, are you? Abraham’s faith in God was so outstanding that it made him to be called: The friend of God. Faith in your God is what elevates you. If you have the key of faith and it is inserted into Jesus Christ – The Door, and turned, it can take you to any height. If there is one thing that Jesus sought as He went about preaching, teaching and healing, it was faith.
Faith attracts His presence. One way or another, wherever He finds faith in God, He moves into the situation to salvage it. Beloved, where is your faith? As long as you have someone to depend on for that job placement, contract, appointment, etc., you will be unable to channel your faith towards God. Each time you depend overly on man instead of God, you make Him jealous. He sees anyone you totally depend on as competing for His space in your heart. He might be forced to sever you from such persons. God is the only One you should trust totally. The righteous trust God to the point of foolishness and He never disappoints them. To what extent can you believe God in today’s world?
KEY POINT:
Different situations call for different levels of faith.
In some cases, all you need is just simple child-like faith.

Bible in one year: 2 Chronicles 26-29
WHY MIRACLES?
Memorise: Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Romans 2:4
Read: John 20:30-31
God is a God of miracles. In the Old Testament, He performed miracles. In the
New Testament, He performed more miracles. Even today, He is still in the
business of miracles. Unfortunately, because of the attitude of some people to miracles, its purpose is being misunderstood. Some people think miracles are to entertain guests, while some think it is to show off. Oh how wrong! God has definite reasons for suspending the laws of nature and doing the impossible before restoring those laws. The first reason is to make the recipient, as well as the spectator, to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Miracles, like the Word of God stir up faith in God. Romans 10:17 says:
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If you want your faith to increase, focus on the miracles of Jesus. One thing about miracles is that as you continue to witness or hear it, faith to receive your own miracle will build up within you. This then means that those who regularly hear of and see the miracles God wrought in the midst of His people are expected to be believers. But if in spite of all these, you still have some doubts, something is wrong somewhere.
Miracles are meant to lead you to Jesus. Every recipient of healing, deliverance, breakthrough or answered prayer is expected to return to the Lord and invite Him into their hearts. Has the miracle of the Lord made you to become a born again child of God? If it has not, you are frustrating God’s intention in sending you that miracle. In any case, you need Jesus in your heart to sustain that miracle or else it could easily be lost. After you are born again, the miracles you receive are to establish you in the place of faith knowing that the One who has tackled your situation is still the same God who will tackle the future ones. That means miracles can help the believer to continue to believing in His God and to remain victorious. In addition, sometimes, God uses miracles to make people know that He is the Supreme Being in charge and above all, so that His glory can be given to Him.
PRAYER POINT:
Lord, let the purpose of miracles be fully accomplished in my life.
